December 10 2009 HSBCFEI ranking rulesPOINT SYSTEM The point system has been updated to include CICs with the same value of points at a level lower than the CCIs. Points to top 25% of starters in the competition as per current point system (as per prize-money rules). Each rider finishing the competition with a QR will receive points in reverse order from the last up.
Example 12 starters at a CCI3* - 8 athletes completed with a Qualification Result – 3 athletes (25%) classified with maximum points
1st - 71
2nd - 67
3rd - 64
4th - 5 as 3 is 25% of 12 for this place on riders only receive points in reverse order from the last up
5th - 4
6th - 3
7th - 2
8th - 1
We think that this will hardly penalize small countries events.
As for comparation to the given example , if instead of 12 starters it would been 48 sall the 8 riders with Qualifying Results would receive the top scores as 25% of 48 is 12.

October 19 Lion D'angers 2008 Urco get's a remarkable 14th place at the Mondial du Lion D'Angers. Duarte Seabra manages to finish with 46,50 pts in Dressage, 0 pts at the Cross Country and 8 pts in the Show Jumping making a total of 54,50 pts. This year winner was the sweden Malin Larsson riding Walter Von Der Vogelweide with 37,80 pts followed by Ruth Edge with Nick of Thyme and Pippa Funnel with Redesigned, both for Great Britain September 21 Necarne Horse Trials 2008 II

The second best placed portuguese was Francisco Stillwel with Napalm de Foja at fifth fllowed by Augusto Calça e Pina with Viper whom finished 7th
At two stars level, Carlos Grave riding Tonante was the best ride finishing third after making one of the best cross country performance in a track that qas anything tnah easy for both riders and horses. Frederico Mexia de Almeida and Rabula also got some points as they finhished fifth.

Proving that the day wasn´t easy for everyone, Augusto Calça e Pina Jr falls after his 12 year old stallion Pegasus made clear that was not in the mood to jump into the water. Hopefully everything end up right.

Bemvindos
A origem da Coudelaria Calça e Pina remonta ao século XIX, tendo como seu impulsionador António de Calça e Pina, lavrador na vila de Sousel.
Utilizou inicialmente garanhões e éguas de origem Alter Real, e mais tarde garanhões importados de proveniência alemã, como comprovam os livros de registos desde 1920. Tinha como principal função a produção de animais de trabalho e fornecimento à então remonta do exercito português.
Com o advento da mecanização agrícola no último quartel do século XX, a vocação inicial foi perdendo expressão tendo à data de 1974 desaparecido completamente assim como todo o património genético.Em 1990, com a aquisição de um lote de éguas hanoverianas, iniciou-se um novo ciclo, dentro das normas do então recentemente criado livro da raça "português de desporto", vocacionado para a produção de cavalos de aptidão para obstáculos e concurso completo de equitação.
A Coudelaria Calça e Pina mantém ainda hoje a marca de fogo de origem na coxa direita dos seus produtos.
